Digital Economy Products (DEP) is a division within GovTech running like a modern product company, solving important underserved problems spanning across Healthcare, Manpower, Trade-Industry-Finance, National Development and Sustainability sectors.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our development teams. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing and maintaining our software products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Be part of a cross-functional development team that values quality, automation and user experience of the user experience of the software we deliver.

As a Senior/Lead Software Engineer:

  • Collaborate with government agencies to deliver high quality software systems

  • Work closely with the cross-functional agile team such as Product Managers, Designers to solicit business requirements and define technical requirements

  • Work closely with fellow engineers to deliver technical solutions

  • Drive adoption of relevant, up-to-date technologies, practices and tools in modern software development lifecycle

  • Contribute to code reviews by offering feedback that enhances the overall quality of the codebase

  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Review and Retrospective

  • Participate in regular tech-sharing and solutioning sessions

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment

  • Able to work independently with little supervision and guidance

What we are looking for:


  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines

  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining robust systems using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot

  • Experience building and optimizing distributed integrated flows using Apache Camel

  • Experience implementing and supporting distributed transactions using Narayana

  • Proficient in writing efficient SQL queries and working with Oracle and PostgreSQL

  • Proficient in writing comprehensive unit and integration tests using MockK and Mockito

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools

  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch etc.

  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools, especially the ELK stack

  • Ownership, mindset and behavioural expectations

    •  Initiative: Proactively identify issues and opportunities to improve the system

    • Accountability and ownership: You take responsibility for your code - from design to production support

    • Technical courage: You respectfully challenge existing assumptions when necessary and back your proposals with clear and practical reasoning

    • Collaboration: Share knowledge and contribute to a healthy, transparent team culture

    • Continuous learning: Stay current with technologies and best practices
