[What you will be working on]
As a Senior Enterprise Software Specialist (Finance ERP), you will configure, manage, and optimise the government's financial processes within our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, ensuring seamless integration for reporting, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and compliance. You will bridge finance expertise with deep platform knowledge of modern ERPs like Oracle Fusion Finance, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, and equivalent platforms.
Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive business process analysis of finance workflows including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Asset Accounting, whilst proposing ERP product-based solutions for enhanced efficiency.

You will be responsible for configuration and customisation tasks, setting up Company Codes, Chart of Accounts, Cost Centres, Profit Centres, Projects, and other core financial structures that support government operations.

You will lead or participate in ERP implementations, upgrades, and provide ongoing system support whilst ensuring the finance ERP system integrates seamlessly with other critical government systems including the Government Procurement System (GBX), Contract Management systems, and various operational platforms.

Additionally, you will develop sophisticated financial reports and leverage artificial intelligence for advanced analytics, whilst providing consultation and training to guide users on best practices and new functionalities.

As an Enterprise Software Specialist, you will make disciplined, scalable use of platform-native capabilities - data models, workflow engines, automation frameworks, permission models, integration connectors, and extension layers - including custom coding to support our critical finance operations missions.

You will maintain accountability for platform delivery outcomes, including vendor-delivered work, conducting technical reviews similar to pull request reviews in software development.

You will be responsible for quality, architecture, and long-term maintainability, with vendors executing under your direction and governance.

Your role includes participating in Centres of Excellence that set platform standards across ministries and agencies, ensuring durable knowledge and capability remains within government.

We seek a trusted technical contributor who operates as an in-house specialist and technical lead to vendor teams, consistently delivering high-quality, maintainable, and impactful platform configurations, automations, and integrations.

You should demonstrate strong ownership, independently drive moderately complex to advanced scopes, and help uphold strong engineering standards whilst uplifting team capabilities.

You must possess deep expertise in Agile practices and Oracle Fusion Finance, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, or equivalent major enterprise platforms, coupled with strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS, financial statements, and reporting requirements.

Technical proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion Finance, data migration, and troubleshooting is essential, along with excellent business process analysis, project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
