AGD operates central finance, accounting and payment systems including finance data analytics or Fi@Gov. Join AGD’s dynamic team and gain hands-on experience in modernising Fi@Gov’s cutting-edge data infrastructure. You will be spearheading new initiatives to revolutionise finance data management and analytics for over 1,300 WOG users. This role offers exceptional learning opportunities with enterprise-grade technologies, directly impacting how WOG finance officers make data-driven decisions.
What You’ll Be Delivering
- Gain practical experience with modern data lakehouse architecture on Cloudera, applying performance-optimisation techniques to wrangle large-scale government data from over 10 sources into a unified data platform.
- Engineer robust and scalable data pipelines using Talend Data Integration and implement sophisticated data quality assessment and monitoring frameworks to ensure data accuracy and integrity across Fi@Gov’s data ecosystem.
- Build comprehensive data cataloguing and governance capabilities by implementing finance metadata, establishing end-to-end data lineage tracking and creating collaborative environments in enhancing Fi@Gov’s business glossaries via Talend Data Catalog.
- Architect enterprise-grade data governance frameworks for finance data products, including implementing intelligent data anonymisation techniques via Denodo based on data classification and user role privileges.
- Design and implement seamless data integrations with downstream agencies and central platforms like Data Hive and Maestro via Denodo, creating a backbone for secure, efficient data product sharing across WOG.
What we are looking for
- Deep understanding of system design, data structure and algorithms, data modelling, data access, and data storage.
- Demonstrated ability in using cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Experience in architecting data and IT systems.
- Experience with distributed data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Proficiency in writing SQL for databases.
- Familiarity with building and using CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Docker, Git, Terraform.
- Sound understanding of ETL and ELT concepts, data modeling principles, and data warehousing practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with analysts, data scientists, product managers and product owners.
Preferred requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
- Experience in designing, building, and maintaining batch and real-time data pipelines.
- Experience with Databricks.
- Experience with implementing technical processes to enforce data security, data quality, and data governance.
- Familiarity with government systems and government's policies relating to data governance, data management, data infrastructure, and data security.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services.
- Familiarity with ETL and ELT tools, orchestration frameworks, and data pipeline monitoring practices.
- Familiarity with version control systems and CI and CD practices.
