[What you will be working on]

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to spearhead the design of Singapore Examination and Digital Assessment Board's (SEAB) reimagined digital platform for examination administration and digital assessment. This role will shape the user experience of a unified, sovereign system that seamlessly connects exam administration, authoring, delivery, and marking processes. The designer will create intuitive interfaces that uphold trust and fairness whilst enabling continuous innovation across SEAB's examination administration and digital assessment capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:

Design Unified Examination Administration and Assessment Experiences (Primary)

  • Lead the design of a cohesive user journey across examination registration, content authoring, exam delivery, marking, and results management — creating a productivity suite experience where different tools work seamlessly together.

  • Design intuitive interfaces for exam administrators, question authors, markers, and candidates that maintain consistency whilst serving distinct user needs and workflows.

  • Create clear visual representations of complex examination data, marking workflows, and administrative processes for both technical and non-technical users.

  • Translate SEAB's requirements for exam integrity, security, and fairness into user-centred design solutions that maintain trust whilst improving usability.

Establish Design Patterns for Examination Administration and Assessment (Secondary)

  • Develop comprehensive design systems, components, and interaction models that ensure consistency across all modules of the examination administration and digital assessment platform.

  • Design how users interact with assessment content, marking interfaces, administrative dashboards, and reporting tools in intuitive and meaningful ways.

  • Create design standards and guidelines that ensure accessibility, security compliance, and user-friendliness across the entire examination administration system.

  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure design feasibility within the composable architecture framework.

Drive Service Design and User Research (Secondary)

  • Conduct extensive user research with exam administrators, question authors, markers, school leaders, and candidates to understand pain points and decision-making processes.

  • Facilitate workshops and ideation sessions with SEAB stakeholders to co-create solutions that address real-world examination administration and assessment challenges.

  • Apply service design methodologies to map user journeys across the entire examination lifecycle and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Test and iterate designs through concept testing, user feedback sessions, and usability testing to ensure alignment with user needs and expectations.


What Success Looks Like

  • A unified examination administration and digital assessment platform where users can seamlessly navigate between exam administration, authoring, delivery, and marking with consistent, intuitive experiences.

  • Strong user adoption and satisfaction across all user groups, from exam administrators to candidates.

  • A robust design system that enables rapid development of new features whilst maintaining platform consistency and integrity.

  • Examination administration processes that are more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly whilst upholding SEAB's standards for trust and fairness.

  • Successful integration of innovative features (including AI tools) within a controlled, auditable environment that maintains exam security.


[Who we are looking for]

  • Extensive experience designing complex digital platforms, particularly in education technology, examination administration systems, or enterprise software suites.

  • Strong service design expertise with proficiency in user research, journey mapping, ideation, prototyping, and user testing methodologies.

  • Experience designing for multiple user types with varying technical capabilities and distinct workflow requirements.

  • Familiarity with security-conscious design principles and compliance requirements in regulated environments.

  • Excellent visual design skills with expertise in creating comprehensive design systems, information architecture, and interaction design.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with ability to conduct workshops and clearly articulate design decisions to diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience working with product managers, engineers, and domain experts in complex, mission-critical systems.

  • Design thinking mindset with ability to balance innovation with reliability and security requirements.
