The Planning and Analytics team (P&A) is part of MTI’s Futures, Strategy and Plans Division (FSPD), which oversees the full ‘value chain’ of strategic planning activities within MTI and across Government for the economy. Performing the “CEO’s Office” function for MTI, the P&A team works closely with senior management to translate strategy into action and steward our resources. This includes:
(i) Driving strategic resource management for the MTI family and supporting the allocation of resources to key economic projects, in alignment with our vision and mission.
(ii) Strengthening systems governance (i.e. target setting and progress assurance) within MTI and across the Firefly Family, to ensure the translation of strategic goals into tangible and impactful results.
(iii) Corporate planning for the MTI family, including leading the work planning process and running senior management platforms, to foster strategic alignment and coherence across the whole organisation.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Key Responsibilities:
• Organise and run robust planning processes across the MTI Firefly Family to determine our strategic priorities, foster organisation-wide alignment, and follow through with clear implementation plans. (This will include guiding divisions in the formulation of their respective work plans.)
• Develop processes and structures, involving data analytics, to monitor the progress and outcomes of our economic strategies.
• Design and implement strategic resource allocation frameworks and tools (e.g. resourcing principles, benchmarks, reporting and evaluation mechanisms), to ensure prudent allocation of budget and manpower resources across the MTI family.
• Work with stakeholders to understand resource requirements and prioritise allocation, while uplifting resourcing capabilities within MTI and across the Firefly Family (e.g. conducting robust Cost-Benefit-Analysis).
• Drive the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process in MTI to proactively anticipate challenges and support senior leadership decision making.
• Support the setting of agenda and organising frames for key economic platforms, and coordinate the implementation of economic strategies across economic agencies.
• Support the work of key Ministerial-level economic strategy decision making platforms and related work-streams.

What we are looking for
Candidates should have:
• Deep interest in Singapore’s economy and economic strategies.
• Experience in resource management and corporate planning will be a huge plus.
• Proven leadership and project management experience in economic planning and analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity.
• Strong learning orientation (e.g. a curious mind, a preference to refine new ideas) and desire to foster efficiency and innovate to do better.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to understand the diverse/competing needs of stakeholders and work across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Proficiency in Excel is preferred.
