Senior Software Engineer (Analysis & Decision-Support Platform)

As a senior software engineer, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary product development team that builds and delivers a robust and intelligent platform that supports our analysts and leaders alike in data-driven analysis and decision-making. You are expected to possess a solid background on full stack web development and to lead complex technical work. Your technical successes will contribute to the effective delivery of products that enable analysts and leaders alike, to make informed and astute decisions on issues that matters to Singapore’s national security.

• Shape the technologies and lead the development of analytics and decision-making platforms. • Engineer innovative, scalable and interoperable solutions to overcome technical challenges posed by fast-moving new technologies and legacy systems. • Collaborate with other software engineers, data and technology specialists in R&D initiatives to grow domain expertise within the community. • Engage users, engineers and UX/UI designers to co-create practical, smart and sustainable products.

Must have: • Good degree in Engineering or Computer Science, with at least 5 years of relevant working experiences. • Familiar with full web stack technologies (frontend, backend and database), and knowledge of web optimization techniques. • Well-versed and proficient in modern web frameworks such as ReactJS. • Well-versed and proficient in software design and implementation using modern programming languages like Java and Python. • Good understanding of Software Design patterns. • Experience with build automation tools like Git CI/CD, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory and Docker. • Good analytical skills for problem-solving. • Good collaboration and communication skills to work across teams. Good to have: • Experienced practitioners of scrum and agile methodologies. • UX/UI design skillsets. • Leadership experiences.
