What the role is

Carry out architectural design and design management for JTC’s building products to pursue optimal user-centric designs for attractive, integrated and sustainable workplaces; as well as design management for CentEx projects to ensure user requirements and quality standards are met

What you will be working on

• Carry out in-house design simulations and conceptual designs to ensure well-designed and functional building products that achieve land and space optimization, and balance building performance, maintenance and cost. • Ensure designs for building products are developed through deep understanding of customers’ needs and evolving industry trends. To take on an environmentally sustainable approach towards design, considering the building product life cycle. • Provide technical inputs on architectural design matters and guide external consultants to ensure that the detailed designs and construction meet JTC’s user and operational requirements and design intent. Uphold quality in design and execution of architectural related elements. • Manage the architectural design consultants and provide professional inputs to ensure that the user requirements of the respective Ministries/Agencies and technical considerations are translated into the design proposal throughout the project design and construction stages. Provide technical advice to ensure quality in design and execution of architectural related elements of the Centex Project. • Collaborate closely with other technical Divisions within JTC e.g. engineering and project management colleagues and external agencies and stakeholders to ensure multi-disciplinary design process is well-integrated with good communication and flow of design information across disciplines.

What we are looking for

Skills • Drafting/Modelling skills (Basic/Advanced): Autodesk Revit (BIM), Autodesk CFD, Autodesk Autoturn, Autocad, Sketchup, Rhino etc. • Parametric Design skills : Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit Dynamo etc. • Specialised simulation skills (Basic/Advanced): ESD - CFD, Daylighting studies • Graphic software skills (Basic/Advanced): Adobe CS, etc. • Data Visualisation / Analytic skills (Basic/Advanced) : Microsoft Excel, Qlik Sense, Tableau etc. • Programming Language (would be beneficial): C++, C#, Python, Java etc. • Proficiency in relevant Agencies Acts, Regulations, COPs and Guidelines (e.g. URA, NParks, LTA, PUB, NEA, SCDF BCA, etc.) Qualifications: • Master’s Degree in Architecture • At least 5 years of relevant educational qualification/experience in Architectural design projects • Registered Architect in Board of Architects Singapore would be beneficial • Other certifications such as Green Mark Manager/Green Mark Professional/LEED AP, BIM Manager, Universal Design, ABC Waters Design, Design for safety, Universal Design, Landscape Design, Façade Inspection, Wayfinding/Signage Design, Water-sensitive Urban Design, Data Analytics etc. would be beneficial. Desired Characteristics: • Creative flair in design and good design management capabilities • Good presentation and writing skills to effectively convey design intent and drive design solutions • Able to work independently and collectively within a team
