The Fair Consideration Framework sets out requirements for employers to consider the workforce in Singapore fairly for job opportunities. Employers are expected to adhere to the Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices, to recruit and select employees on the basis of merit, and not discriminate on characteristics that are not related to the job, such as age, gender, nationality or race.
The upcoming Workplace Fairness Legislation (WFL) will strengthen protections against discrimination and help ensure that workers are fairly considered for job opportunities.
As an Investigation Officer, you are primarily responsible for investigating companies’ and individuals’ possible non-adherence of the Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices (as well as the upcoming WFL when it is implemented) and recommending the appropriate actions to be taken against errant employers.
