What you will be working on
Data Consultants are tasked to transform ISD via the use of analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a current focus on use of Large Language Models. We work with business users to explore how use of AI in their daily work can increase operational value for ISD, and/or to improve the work/life balance for officers. We proactively engage business clients on their problem statements and workflow re-engineering needs, then conceptualise solutions that use analytics and AI to achieve organisational goals more effectively and speedily. Data Consultants endeavour to move the organisation up the analytics value chain. Their main job roles are as follows:
1. Consultancy, Outreach & Education
• Engage internal business clients to understand their needs and identify opportunities to value-add, translating these into analytics requirements and recommending solutions. This may include short-term attachments/rotations to other technical/non-technical teams to better understand their needs and identify opportunities.
• Actively promote and educate others on the use of analytics and AI within the organisation through innovative means to meet operational goals.
• Communicate data-driven findings and recommendations in a coherent, intuitive and concise manner to stakeholders and management.
2. Technical Solution Engineering
• Educate business clients on how to extract business intelligence from data and how to use prompt engineering with Large Language Model (LLM)-based chatbots to achieve work goals.
• Brainstorm and propose for analytics and AI related solutions that enable business users to derive value from.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to create and deploy data/analytics/AI strategies and projects for business users.
3. Process Innovation Specialist
• Keep abreast of organisation developments and advancements in the analytics and AI field.
• Explore new AI technologies and demonstrate how the technology can benefit the organisation in innovative new ways. This can include working with product vendors, building proof-of-concept solutions, etc.
• Gather user feedback and assist business clients with the troubleshooting and use of various commercial analytics/AI products.
What we are looking for
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Marketing, Communication Studies or equivalent competencies.
• Candidates with experience in project management experience may apply
• An innovative individual who wants to challenge the status quo.
• Has a friendly demeanour and enjoys work with others. Able to connect with people and understand their needs.
• Passionate about using Analytics, AI and LLMs to contribute to Singapore’s security landscape.
• Comfortable with public speaking (i.e. presentations, teaching, conducting lessons and talks) and adept at data storytelling.
• Experience in using LLM-based chatbots/AI assistants/AI agents. Prompt-engineering skills is required.
• Interest to learn and ability to adapt to the fast-evolving AI field.
• Strong problem solver
