What the role is
Reporting to MPA's Hydrographic Division, candidate will be part of our team of maritime professionals whose responsibilities are to ensure safe navigation in Singapore waters by providing hydrographic, cartographic and aids to navigation products and services.

Your duties will include:
- Conduct hydrographic surveys in Singapore waters.
- Operate, calibrate and maintain hydrographic equipment such as the multibeam sonar survey systems, side scan sonars, laser coast-lining systems, etc.
- Process data generated from the various hydrographic surveys in office or on board the survey vessel.
The data collected from the hydrographic surveys are used for nautical charting for the safety of navigation in Singapore waters. The work entails embarking and disembarking with equipment from small vessels to jetties via ladders/ landing steps and long duration on board survey vessel. The candidate is also expected to perform administrative roles such as liaising with internal/ external customers, report writing, project management and procurement processes.

Candidate should possess relevant discipline such as Engineering, Nautical Studies or Information Technology.
Candidates with no prior experience are welcomed to apply.
Candidates with prior working experience in land surveying, cartography or geographical information/computer-aided design systems will have an advantage. Candidates must be independent, meticulous with an eye for detail and a good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
