The Service Delivery Division (SD) under SSP delivers services directly to residents and works with partners to uplift lower-income individuals and families, as well as destitute persons.

What the role is
What you will be working on
As a Community Link (ComLink) Team Leader within the SSO, you will assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager (Regional Services) to oversee the implementation of ComLink, an initiative that provides proactive and integrated family-centric support to families with children living in rental flats with the aim of empowering them to achieve Stability, Self-reliance and, ultimately, Social mobility (3‘S’).
You will supervise and guide the Family Coaches in your SSO cluster in performing their key ComLink role, which is to work with the families to help them achieve their goals and aspirations. This would involve working with volunteer befrienders, other government, social and community agencies to support the ComLink families and, resolve complex issues that some families may face. Where necessary, you may also work with partners to co-create programmes that can address the needs or support the aspirations of these families and help them to progress towards the 3‘S’ goals.
What we are looking for
Candidate must be passionate about supporting lower-income, vulnerable families and can independently supervise and lead a team in fulfilling their key responsibilities.
Candidates should possess the following traits:
• Degree and/or Grad Dip in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Community Development or related degrees would be advantageous.
• Minimum - At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the social service sector, able to work independently and preferably with some supervisory experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and presentation) skills
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
• Proactive and self-motivated worker
• Effective team-player
• Empathetic
• Able to speak a vernacular language/dialect would be advantageous
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to monitor the families’ trajectory in progressing towards Stability, Self-reliance and Social mobility (3‘S’) goals.

• Relevant volunteering/working experience in the social service sector or other roles that help the vulnerable would be advantageous
• He/she should be able to engage multiple parties, who may have differing views, to reach a client-centric solution that’s in the clients’ best interests
• Able to lead agencies in developing a coordinated support and intervention plan for the family as well as case discussions with various stakeholders to advocate for families
• Candidate with supervisory skills and volunteer management skills would be advantageous
