What you will be working on
As part of our team, you'll be involved in the following key areas:
- Utilise cutting-edge digital compliance tools to assess GST refund claims, ensuring accuracy and mitigating fraudulent activities
- Utilise data analytics to identify high-risk taxpayers, conduct audits, and promote voluntary compliance while deterring non-compliance
- Prepare comprehensive reports and submissions on audit findings, and recommend actions to be taken. You will have the opportunity to educate taxpayers on correct GST treatment
- Work closely with our counterparts across IRAS to identify and manage fraudulent GST refund claims
You will have the opportunity to contribute to continual improvement and enhancements in our work processes, by providing feedback and innovative ideas to improve taxpayers' compliance and streamline operations. In addition, you may also participate in ad hoc projects, applying your knowledge of relevant technologies (e.g., RPA, data analytics) or methodologies (e.g., behavioural insights & design) to further enhance compliance and processes.
What we are looking for
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- A degree in Accountancy or Business is preferred
- Basic knowledge in GST and/or at least 1 year of audit experience would be advantageous. We welcome candidates with a strong willingness to learn and grow in the field
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, which are essential to effectively interact with taxpayers and colleagues
- Logical and systematic approach to handling and analysing information and data
- Resourcefulness and ability to work independently
- Strong analytical skills, coupled with a curious mindset to question and probe
