We are looking for a Quantum Engineer with a focus on Quantum Internet Architecture to join our team and help us architect the quantum internet infrastructure for Singapore. As a Quantum Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing Singapore's quantum internet infrastructure. Your expertise in quantum networking and communications will ensure the nation's readiness for the next generation of quantum technology applications. The successful candidate is a strategic and analytic thinker who also enjoys exploring frontier technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, researchers, and industry partners to design and develop Quantum Internet infrastructure and Quantum Key Distribution Infrastructure.
  • Study, architect, design and analyse quantum network designs, protocols, including quantum key distribution, quantum repeaters, and quantum error correction.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate quantum hardware and software technologies for deployment in the quantum internet infrastructure.
  • Design and optimize network architectures for efficient and secure quantum communication.
  • Collaborate across teams to conduct simulations and experiments to validate the performance of quantum communication systems.
  • Stay current with advances in quantum networking, computing, and communication technologies, and contribute to the development of new techniques and methodologies.
  • Prepare technology think pieces, technical documentation and present project updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with whole of government teams, industry, and academic partners to develop strategies on emerging communications technologies.
  • Work in a cross-functional teams to develop strategy, implementation design and plan for nationwide communications infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Quantum Physics, Quantum Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience working on quantum technologies, with a focus on quantum networking and communication.
  • Solid understanding of quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, and quantum communication protocols.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Cirq, Q# and Qiskit.
  • Familiarity with quantum hardware and software platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • An avid learner on new and emerging technologies.

This position will commensurate with experience.
