What the role is

Job Responsibilities

  • Scan and research technology landscapes to be kept abreast of industry developments as well as developments from international standardisation organisations (e.g. IEEE, ITU)
  • Evaluate, re-design, assess market solutions and identify potential collaborations with strategic industry partners to support IMDA’s regulatory requirements and business processes
  • Participation in the planning, design, tender and contract management of AI projects implemented within IMDA regulatory group, including the development of AI algorithm and models through joint collaboration with industry partners.
  • Review, formulate and implement robust statistical methodologies on data collected from telecom QoS mobile application while ensuring that methods are aligned to those developed by international bodies (e.g. ITU). When required, participate in international and national standards forum in the development of QoS mobile specifications.
  • Provide and maintain data analytics capabilities within the division and group.
  • Promotion in the active adoption and/or active collaboration of telecom QoS methodology with other regional regulators.
  • Develop regulatory technology plan/roadmap that is aligned with the mid to long term needs of the ICM industry.
  • Provide technological assessment capabilities within the division and group.

Job Requirements

  • Background in Computing, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics with at least 4 years working in similar and related fields
  • Experience in using business analytics software
  • Knowledge of the functionality on telecommunications network
  • Keen Interest in understanding new regulatory technologies
  • Technical acumen and ability to adapt to new and emerging technologies
