What the role is

You develop the Defence Relations and International Engagement (DRIE) strategy to guide MINDEF/SAF’s Defence Relations (DR) efforts in the area of cyber.

What you will be working on

On this, you review, analyse and provide policy recommendations regarding MINDEF/SAF’s engagement strategy, collaboration, and defence relations. You also lead efforts to formalise collaboration efforts with foreign cyber partners and work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that cyber collaboration and cyber defence relations policies are well coordinated. Your challenge lies in understanding the cultural and security considerations underpinning defence relations as well as anticipating issues and identifying opportunities for enhancing collaboration.

What we are looking for

You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in Political Science, International Relations, Communications, Economics, History, or any related field, with at least 6 years' working experience in policy or international relations. You must have strong conceptual ability, mastery of written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders. Having a keen interest in cyber and current affairs is advantageous. You should also be committed to achieving results, be adaptable and able to work independently, have good time management and organizational skills, and be able to work under pressure and deliver results in short timelines.
