What the role is

You are responsible for managing the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)'s strategic Defence Relations (DR) interests with the Navies-of-Interest (NOIs) under your charge. This includes developing overarching strategies, maintaining strategic ledgers, and providing staff support for naval engagements.

What you will be working on

- Update RSN's overall NOI strategy - Update RSN's DR strategy vis-a-vis specific NOIs - Develop and upkeep the strategic ledger vis-a-vis specific NOIs - Identify DR opportunities and planning interactions vis-a-vis specific NOIs - Executing DR interactions with the NOIs - Provide support to Naval Staff/SAF/MINDEF principals for DR interactions with NOIs - Review RSN's DR strategy after execution of activities and propose refinements to the overarching strategy - Evaluate the NOIs to enhance RSN's understanding, including their DR interests and leadership developments, to inform RSN's overall DR strategy Challenge(s) - Staying abreast of rapidly changing geopolitical situations - Managing heavy workload, especially during high-tempo periods

What we are looking for

- Education in Politics, International Relations or any related field - Experience in Defence Relations or International Relations from whole-of-government, including MFA, MHA, MOT as well as learning institutes like RSIS and CIL is advantageous - Good understanding of geopolitical situations - Excellent command of written and spoken English - Resourceful and outspoken - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Meticulous staff work ability - Excellent organisation and management skills - Strong composure and clarity of thought (Applicants with no experience may apply.)
