PUB has an in-house team developing and operating the advanced National Coastal-Inland Flood model. The model comprises a coastal and an inland model to carry out flood risk assessment. PUB is building up capability and capacity in model simulation work to better understand impacts due to evolving climate projections and to support emergency response. Thus, we are looking for passionate individuals to join this dynamic team. You would also have the opportunity to oversee the Coastal Protection and Flood Management Research Programme (CFRP) under the Research Programme Office and involve in the modelling of site-specific studies. Your key responsibilities may include:
• Set-up, calibrate, validate, and refine coastal and/or inland flood models
• Carry out simulations and evaluate model results
• Process model data output and develop visualisation to communicate results
• Acquire and process input data for models including but not limited to bathymetry, land use, flows, water levels, tides, rainfall
• Conduct quality control and analysis of measured and modelled data
• Conduct statistical and geospatial analyses of model inputs and outputs
• Test and transition models to an operational environment and validate the performance in accordance with relevant guidelines
• Operate and maintain models in an operational environment
• Provide technical support on modelling for site-specific studies
• Develop knowledge and technologies related to (a) coastal science and (b) the monitoring, prediction and digitalisation of Coastal Environment. This would be through the evaluation and management of R&D projects under the CFRP.
