What the role is

Provide support in workflow improvement projects, research and development. This will involve in literature review, experimental design and planning, validation, instrumental and data analysis with a strong component in statistical analysis, report writing and presentation as well as implementation and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Understand and apply advanced probability measures using probabilistic software on complex biological data
  • Perform data analysis of biological data using statistical software e.g. python, R, SPSS
  • Develop and apply statistical and machine learning algorithms to biological data
  • Write research report and present research outcome to stakeholders
  • Implement and troubleshoot workflow improvement and research outcome

Job Requirements

  • Relevant background in biology, computational biology, or related fields, with strong statistical knowledge/experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting complex genetic data
  • Experienced in advanced statistical method (e.g Bayes’ theorem, likelihood ratios)
  • Experienced in programming (e.g VBA, python, R, SQL)
  • Experienced in statistical software (e.g R Studio, SPSS, SAS)
  • Experienced in developing and implementing machine learning algorithms to solve complex biological problems
  • Collaborative team player and able to work independently
