What the role is

The National Arts Council (NAC)’s mission is to champion an arts sector that inspires society, sparks creativity and connects Singapore to the world.

As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and execution of NAC’s data strategy by developing and implementing data projects. Your primary responsibilities will involve transforming raw data into meaningful insights, analyzing data using appropriate methodologies, creating models and dashboards, and facilitating the organization's understanding of insights, trends, and visualizations. You will report to the Deputy Director, Data and Research Unit.

What you will be working on

Key responsibilities include:

i. Serve as a subject matter specialist in acquiring and managing data, and the application of analytics and data science techniques.

ii. Utilise a variety of tools (e.g. Excel, Python, Tableau, AWS DataZone, AWS QuickSight, etc) to generate value-added analyses and insights that guide policy, programming and operations. Projects would likely include:

developing visually-appealing and easy-to-understand dashboards.
developing models for data extraction, classification, forecasting.

iii. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs and issues, collaborate on solutions, and optimise data analysis and management for the organisation.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a proactive and curious individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You should possess the following:

Proficiency in Python, SQL, Tableau, navigating Cloud database technologies, and Excel.
Good interpersonal, verbal, data visualisation, and written communication skills
Tertiary-level education in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics or related discipline
1-3 years of experience with data analysis in a public sector or corporate setting is preferred. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are welcome to apply.
