What the role is

You will be part of a dynamic team that manages cyber security-related projects, and operates enterprise systems using the latest technological solutions to protect MINDEF/SAF against cyber threats.

What you will be working on

You will conceptualise, plan, design, and implement cyber security-related ICT projects. You will also perform horizon-scanning of emerging cyber threats to identify opportunities to develop our cyber defence capabilities. You will also formulate cyber defence plans. You will be managing systems budget allocation as well as staff’s cyber security training and competency development. You will also be operating cyber-related ICT systems, support strategies, formulate standard operating procedures in ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of ICT systems, and conform to cyber security and audit requirements.

What we are looking for

You should have a tertiary education in an IT-related discipline, preferably with focus on cyber security. You should possess good writing and verbal communication skills, problem-solving and analytical skills, and passion for IT/cyber is essential. Having prior relevant work experience in cyber/ICT related field and/or possession of relevant cyber security professional accreditation (e.g. CISA, CISM, CISSP, Cloud-related certifications, etc.) would be advantageous. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

About Military Security Department

The Military Security Department (MSD)’s core business is in Counter Intelligence and internal security for MINDEF/SAF. MSD was formed in 1975 to counter the threats of espionage, subversion and sabotage against MINDEF/SAF. It began with two main entities, namely the Counter Intelligence Branch (CIB) and Field Security Branch (FSB). Over the years, the department has continued to evolve and our roles expanded in tandem with the changing security environment. Today, our roles also include Counter Terrorism and Cyber Security.
