What the role is

You will support organisational decisions through data cleaning and analysis of historical data from various available sources, identify gaps and propose solutions to enhance governance and stabilise operations.

What you will be working on

You will use development tools to generate reports, dashboards, clean and prepare the data and analytical solutions according to organisational rules and specifications. You will co-ordinate with internal teams to develop projections on outcomes of implementing organisation strategies that result in actionable insights. You will assist in the data collection, processing and warehousing tasks, which may also include collection, parsing, analysing and visualising sets of data. You will also be required to review, propose and conduct basic analytical courses as part of the digital transformation effort.

What we are looking for

You should have a tertiary education in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or related fields, preferably with work experiences in analytical tasks. Proficiency in analytic tools and techniques as well as familiarity with the relevant software platforms would be advantageous. You should be meticulous and detail-oriented where you enjoy working with data and display willingness to learn. You should also be able to adopt an analytical approach to solve problems and display confidence when communicating ideas. You must be a good team player who can also work independently.

About Military Security Department

The Military Security Department (MSD)’s core business is in Counter Intelligence and internal security for MINDEF/SAF. MSD was formed in 1975 to counter the threats of espionage, subversion and sabotage against MINDEF/SAF. It began with two main entities, namely the Counter Intelligence Branch (CIB) and Field Security Branch (FSB). Over the years, the department has continued to evolve and our roles expanded in tandem with the changing security environment. Today, our roles also include Counter Terrorism and Cyber Security.
