What the role is

We are currently seeking a Wired Communications team lead to spearhead a skilled team of engineers to drive the future of wired communication networks. As a Wired communications team lead, you will play a crucial role in leading a dedicated team focused on advancing wired infrastructure technologies, including quantum networking and security aspects. Your responsibilities will include programme management, technical guidance, and the fostering of a productive and collaborative team environment. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of the transformation of Singapore’s wired infrastructure landscape. The successful candidate is a strategic and analytic thinker who also enjoys exploring frontier technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, including quantum engineers and security specialists working on wired infrastructure projects.
  • Guide the team’s focus on architecting, designing and development of wired infrastructure systems, including quantum and security aspects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategic goals, strategy, development plans and capability built up for wired communications technology development in Singapore.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, researchers, and industry partners to design and develop advanced and emerging wired communications technologies, including Quantum Internet infrastructure and Quantum Key Distribution Infrastructure.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in wired communication technologies.
  • Prepare technology think pieces, technical documentation and present project updates to stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship, professional development opportunities, and support to team members.
  • Collaborate with whole of government teams, industry, and academic partners to develop strategies on emerging communications technologies.
  • Work in a cross-functional teams to develop strategy, implementation design and plan for nationwide communications infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • At least 7 years of experience in advance wired communication projects, with a focus on quantum and security technologies is preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing technical teams.
  • Solid understanding of wired communication networks, quantum networking, and security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with programme management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • An avid learner on new and emerging technologies.

Position will be commensurate with experience.
