What the role is

With the aim of creating a safe and trusted online environment for Singapore, IMDA is looking for a Manager / Assistant Manager (Policy Compliance) to join IMDA’s Online Communications Office, which:

a) Designs, operationalises and enforces IMDA’s online content regulations relating to Online Safety and Misinformation

b) Engages stakeholders within Government and Industry to ensure effective compliance with online content regulations related to online safety and misinformation.

Job Scope

·         Develop innovative regulatory compliance assessment frameworks and approaches for social media services, app stores, online video games and other online communication services.

·         Design and conduct quantitative and data-driven compliance assessments to ensure that regulated online services comply with the Codes of Practice under Singapore’s online safety and misinformation legislations.

·         Work with a wide range of stakeholders across Government and Industry to gather data and insights to ensure compliance with Codes of Practice.

·         Distil and present complex insights and data in reports and presentations.

·         Monitor, research and analyse emerging online safety and misinformation trends and compliance-related developments.

 

Requirements

·         Background in Humanities, Social Sciences, Mass Communications or Legal Studies.

·         Experience in a technology policy or operations related role in the private or public sectors. Job grade will be based on duration and level of relevant work experience.

·         Strong interest in online safety and good knowledge on how online platforms operate, including social media services, app stores, online video games and other online communication services.

·         Strong analytical, reasoning, writing and project management skills.

·         Proactive, curious and inquisitive mindset to learn new things and problem solve independently.

·         Experience in Public Policy, Online Content Regulation, Online Trust and Safety, as well as working with statistics and data would be advantageous.
