What the role is

The Ministry of Law ensures a sound and progressive legal infrastructure, intellectual property infrastructure and insolvency regime, and optimises land resources, to support national goals. The Public Trustee’s Office (“PTO”), which is part of the Ministry of Law, performs various functions that include (a) the administration of deceased persons’ estates and their un-nominated CPF monies, (b) acting as trustee as appointed by the Court, and (c) the administration of compensation monies due to victims of motor accidents. What you will be working on

As a Trust Senior Executive, you will: (a) administer cases involving the estates and un-nominated CPF monies of deceased persons; (b) administer the realisation of assets and distribution of monies of deceased persons to the beneficiaries according to the applicable laws; (c) assess solicitor and client costs in motor accident cases; (d) assess claims on moral and equitable grounds for bona vacantia estates; (e) assess appeals related to motor accidents involving uninsured or untraced drivers; (f) respond to appeals and enquiries from members of the public and estate beneficiaries; (g) develop and review operational policies and procedures; and (h) perform other duties as assigned for developmental purposes.

What we are looking for

Competencies Required [Applying Systems Thinking]: Undertake evidence-based problem-solving and execute calibrated responses according to the profile of stakeholders. [Creating Responsive Governance]: Create feedback loops to finetune workflows and improve outcomes. [Planning and Managing Operations]: Plan and execute daily operations according to Standing Operational Procedures (SOPs) to optimise efficiency. [Processing cases]: Ensure that each step in the case management process is carried out with professionalism and integrity Personal Traits / Work Experience (a) Education in Accountancy, Finance, Business or Law would be useful; (b) Work experience of 1 to 4 years, preferably with experience in customer service and case administration; (c) Good written, oral, interpersonal and analytical skills; (d) Good engagement, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills; (e) Empathy, emotional resilience, and ability to work in fast paced environment; (f) Ability to work independently, or in a team and with partners and stakeholders; (g) Self-motivation with a desire to succeed. Successful candidates will be appointed on a 1-year contract in the first instance. Any extension of the contract will be subject to job performance and/or manpower needs.
