This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer, Accountancy in the School of Business & Accountancy.
[What you wil be working on]
Candidates should have prior experience in auditing, taxation, consulting or managing an accounting team. You should be a team player with strong presentation and communication skills, and is able to teach in both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses. Having access to industry partners / networks will be an advantage as you may be required to spearhead new development initiatives and industry collaborations.
As a Lecturer, you will:
prepare and update teaching materials and conduct lectures, tutorials and workshops.
set and mark assessments related to the module(s) assigned and keep records of student attendance and grades.
support student learning and development through student consultations and mentoring
be required to take on committee portfolio and ad-hoc projects that support the school’s mission.
[What we are looking for]
Pre-requisites:
At least 3 years’ relevant industry experience. Additional teaching experience will be an advantage.
A nurturing mindset with passion for working with young adults and mature learners.
Ability to use innovative teaching strategies to motivate learners.
Working experience or competency in AI, analytics, automation/RPA, cloud accounting and/or sustainability or climate accounting/reporting.
Competent to plan, develop and teach accounting or accounting-related modules and manage collaborative initiatives with industry partners.
Ability to manage and support multiple projects independently as well as in a team setting.
