The Gambling Safeguards Division administers gambling social safeguards and funds preventive and rehabilitative programmes for problem gamblers and their families. We are also Secretariat to the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).

What the role is
What you will be working on
Brief description of Job Scope:
You will be part of a team that administers the NCPG social safeguards to protect the vulnerable from problem gambling. Your role will entail handling casework to help families and individuals who are at-risk to the harm of gambling. You will be responsible for interviewing and assessing the level of risk of individuals who gamble to facilitate decisions by a Committee of Assessors. You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the IT system supporting case management is in keeping with needs and will work with IT vendor to enhance the system. To be successful in these roles, you must be empathetic, a good communicator, inquisitive, analytical, and persuasive.
Responsibilities:
• Explaining the social safeguards to individuals and their families
• Assessing cases, preparing reports, and presenting the case reports
• Guiding public users on the use of the IT system to perform submission of applications and documents
• Making referrals to other agencies
• Motivating individuals to participate in rehabilitation programmes
• Reviewing processes and working with vendors to enhance IT system to support operations
• Maintain oversight of IT vendor to ensure prompt recovery from any IT system outage
• Analyzing operational data for reporting and to facilitate the making of strategic and operational decisions
What we are looking for
Competencies required:
Functional/Technical Competencies
• Tertiary qualification preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or Statistics
• Experience in analyzing trends and creating dashboards and statistical reports
• Experience in case work and managing IT system as a business user will be an advantage
Generic Competencies
• Be result oriented, meticulous and analytical
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Possess good interpersonal, written and communication skills
• Have a good knowledge of office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Basic knowledge in dashboard creation application such as Power BI
