What you will be working on
- Manage budget, Approval of Requirements (AORs) and Approval of Funds (AOF) for the Division's headquarters
- Oversee allocated budget in support of activities and operations for the Division's headquarters to ensure optimal resource utilisation
- Facilitate the implementation of finance processes in accordance with prevailing guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Raise competency of finance appointment holders within the Division through training and guidance
- Serve as compliance officer in developing an internal finance audit programme to assess internal controls of units
- Identify gaps in existing financial processes and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency
- Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and other external stakeholders
Challenge(s)
- Responding to the fluidity of requirements due to operational settings whilst maintaining financial discipline and compliance
- Ensuring allocated funds are used optimally to meet organisational needs and adherence to current Finance Directives and General Orders of MINDEF in a timely manner
- Managing secondary appointments which may be assigned beyond the core job description
What we are looking for
- Education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels
- Fundamental data analytic skills with proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
- Excellent teamwork abilities and stakeholder management skills
- Prior experience and knowledge in Logistics and Finance is preferred and advantageous
- Ability to work in a dynamic operational environment and adapt to changing requirements
