What you will be working on

  • Research on the history of politics and the public service in Singapore.
  • Conduct and record oral history interviews according to OHC’s oral history methodology
  • Manage oral history projects, including planning, scheduling and coordinating interviews with individuals from various backgrounds and communities. This includes liaising with interviewees and/or their assistants on interview logistics.  
  • Engage, build rapport and maintain strong stakeholder relationship with interviewees.
  • Ensure proper documentation of each interview case file, written summaries and reports to enhance accessibility and search of oral history contents for both internal circulation and public presentation.


What we are looking for

  • Preferably 5 – 7 years of experience in a relevant and related field, e.g., oral history, research, journalism.
  • Strong background and/or interest in Singapore history, politics and government.
  • Experience in conducting historical research and primary research will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to research and conduct interviews with decision/policy makers for the project in view.
  • Possess strong communication (verbal and written) and project management skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team
