What the role is

You are the subject matter expert for all psychology-related matters in the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS). On this, you provide a spectrum of organisational and operational psychological support to the DIS during peacetime and operations.

What you will be working on

You design and implement systems to ensure job-fit of DIS personnel, monitor the organisational effectiveness of the DIS and develop appropriate intervention strategies, and remove barriers and promote enablers for DIS personnel to meet work demands. You also lead and train a group of Defence Psychologists in supporting the DIS in psychology-related matters. Your challenge lies in needing to possess the subject matter expertise which is acquired through formal academic training in psychology and practising the discipline across a comprehensive spectrum within the defence context. You need to keep abreast of developments in the psychology domains that are relevant to the DIS to ensure that the systems developed are up-to-date and aligned with industry practices. Lastly, you also need to maintain the professional standards of practice and deliver evidence-based systems in your work.

What we are looking for

You must have a post-graduate degree in Psychology, with at least 10 years' relevant experience. Being knowledgeable on the psychological theories that relates to individual, team, and organisational effectiveness is essential. Possession of excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to be open-minded is advantageous. You must be passionate about growing the practice of psychology in the DIS.
