You will be part of a dynamic team that spearheads Singapore's growth and development as a leading International Maritime Centre (IMC). You will contribute towards the key purposes of safeguarding Singapore’s maritime tax competitiveness, and growing and developing Singapore's maritime industry.
[What you will be working on]
You will be expected to strategise and safeguard Singapore’s maritime tax competitiveness.
The key duties and responsibilities are to:
- Conceptualise, develop, review and implement tax policies to grow and develop Singapore as an International Maritime Centre
- Engage internal and external stakeholders on tax related matters. This could be through offering technical advice on tax or scheme-related issues and concerns, as well as organizing of inhouse and external events to educate and encourage better tax compliance in the shipping community
- Administer programmes, including developing and maintaining processes/ frameworks to meet governance requirements and overseeing related audits and reviews.
- Ensure the shipping community’s compliance with the requirements of the tax programmes/frameworks
- Participate/lead digital transformation efforts to improve effectiveness and efficiency of compliance processes and knowledge management
- Assist with/oversee international tax reporting requirements
[What we are looking for]
- Trained in Accountancy or Business, with at least 2 years of working experience in corporate taxation.
- Experience in international taxation and/or handling tax matters of shipping companies will be an advantage.
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills to engage both internal and external stakeholders
- Detail-oriented and enterprising
- Independent and good team player with ability to deliver in a fast paced environment
- Ability to handle multiple on-going projects or assignments
