Join the DSAD team to grow SSG into a data-mature organization where we use data pervasively and securely to deliver on our business missions:
• Develop and drive SSG’s data strategy, including LOIs, data competency, and maintaining strong links with CIO Office
• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive data governance and management framework that complies with WOG requirements Implement Lines of Inquiries
• Support data management and exploitation
• Develop MLOps and instil best practices

What you will be working on

The Manager/ Senior Manager, Data Management, is a pivotal role within the Data Strategy & Analytics Division (DSAD), tasked with spearheading the development, implementation, and oversight of data management policies and processes. This role is designed for an individual who is committed to upholding the highest standards of data governance in alignment with Whole of Government (WoG) regulations and best practices. The ideal candidate will embody our organization's mission to lead with integrity, innovation, and a commitment to excellence, ensuring that our data management strategies not only comply with regulatory requirements but also support our strategic objectives and operational needs.

Data Governance & Compliance:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive data management policies and processes in accordance with WoG regulations, such as the IM8, and industry best practices

  • Collaborate with the IT department to enforce data management measures, ensuring robust data security and compliance across all systems

  • Provide expert guidance and support to stakeholders, fostering a culture of compliance and accountability in data management practices

Data Strategy Development:

  • Support the development and maintenance of an enterprise-wide data model, including data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and other critical documentation, to provide clarity to data definitions, lineage, and relationships

  • Monitor the effectiveness of data management initiatives, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement and strategic alignment with organizational goals

Data Quality & Integrity:

  • Champion the development and implementation of data quality standards, metrics, and tools to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency

  • Actively engage with stakeholders to understand data requirements, ensuring the acquisition and maintenance of high-quality data

Data Collaboration & Sharing:

  • Facilitate data sharing initiatives within the organization and across the WoG network, adhering to best management practices and enhancing collaborative efforts

What we are looking for

  • A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in data governance, data management, or a related field

  • Strong foundational knowledge in data architecture, systems, and models. Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are highly desirable

  • In-depth understanding of data management principles, frameworks, and best practices

  • Proficiency in data quality management techniques and tools

  • Strong critical thinking abilities, coupled with a logical approach to problem-solving

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

  • A steadfast commitment to professionalism, integrity, and credibility, reflecting our organizational values and culture

About SkillsFuture Singapore

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Education (MOE). It will drive and coordinate the implementation of the national SkillsFuture movement, promote a culture and holistic system of lifelong learning through the pursuit of skills mastery, and strengthen the ecosystem of quality education and training in Singapore. SSG will strengthen the adult training infrastructure by taking on all existing functions of the Committee for Private Education (CPE) and guide the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) to enhance the capabilities and professionalism of adult educators. SSG will play a key role in the quality assurance for private education institutions and adult training centres. Together with educational institutions and training partners, SSG will ensure that students and working adults have access to high quality, industry-relevant training throughout life. SSG will also bring together synergies in continuing education and training (CET) and pre-employment training (PET), so skills requirements will continue to meet the demands of different sectors of the economy.
