What the role is

The job holder will be supporting the communications strategy for IMDA’s business programmes to develop messaging, communications plans and key media strategies for the specific programmes. This includes managing relations with media, internal and external stakeholders as well as external industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Partner business stakeholders to understand priorities and programmes, and to effectively develop and implement communications plans and media engagement plans to drive awareness of such programmes
  • Coordinate efforts with other business teams, agencies, ministries where required
  • Oversee all aspects of media management work, including media briefings, materials, media pitches and interview requests, as well as talking points for speaking engagement and speeches
  • Develop audience awareness for business policy, programmes and initiatives
  • Work closely with various teams to harmonise plans and messaging with intended audiences

Requirements

  • Background in Public relations/Communications/Journalism or a related discipline
  • 5 - 8 years of relevant working experience in Journalism, Public Relations, Government Comms
  • Strong project management and analytical skills, able to follow through on projects in a timely manner
  • Experience working with and pitching to reporters from manpower, tech, media, business beats across media channels an advantage (but not a pre-requisite)
  • Experience with managing 3rd party agencies/vendors/suppliers
  • Ability to understand business units’ needs and translate these needs into impactful communications plans
