CAAS Technology Office leads the planning and implementation of strategies to enhance Singapore’s competitiveness as an international air hub through research and innovation. We oversee innovation programmes and initiatives for existing as well as emerging areas in aviation including (i) air traffic management, (ii) airport operations, (iii) unmanned aircraft systems and (iv) sustainable aviation.
Within each area, our work includes:
1. Developing innovation strategies to strengthen competitiveness of Singapore’s aviation sector.
2. Translating innovation strategies into implementable programmes, projects and initiatives including roadmap development, securing and managing of R&D/innovation funding, establishing ecosystem wide innovation enablers (e.g., infrastructure), ensuring ‘line-of-sight’ to implementation for R&D projects etc.
3. Overseeing capabilities development for local industry and research institutes to support aviation sector’s needs.
