What the role is

The Modeling and Simulation Engineer will co-develop the Digital Twin model with IHL/RI for Singapore port operations. This role involves designing and testing simulation algorithms and ensuring the model accurately replicates real-world scenarios.

What you will be working on

  • Co-develop the Digital Twin model with IHL/RI for Singapore port operations.

  • Implement digital twin models to replicate real-world scenarios adequately for operational insights, optimization, planning and execution.

  • Validate Digital Twins with measurement data related to the maritime domain, such as MetOcean and Shipping traffic data in a Geospatial Information System (GIS) environment.

  • Develop Digital Twin performance metrics to ensure adequate quality control for risk communications in incident management such as chemical leaks

  • Calibrate and validate the Digital Twin model based on real-world data.

  • Collaborate with the data analyst to integrate data into the simulation model.

  • Conduct performance tests and troubleshoot issues within the simulation model.

  • Maintain documentation of algorithm design, Digital Twin model and maintain model integrity.

What we are looking for

  • Background in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.

  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience in modeling and simulation, preferably within maritime or port operations.

  • Proficiency in simulation tools and programming languages.

  • Strong understanding of algorithms and mathematical modeling.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • Successful candidates will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance and may be considered for an extension or be placed on a permanent appointment.
