What the role is
What you will be working on
• Design, develop, and maintain software components for smart urban farming system.
• Develop and implement robust data communication protocols and algorithms.
• Build and manage IoT device firmware and cloud-based applications.
• Perform thorough testing and debugging of IoT systems.
• Analyze IoT data to identify patterns and optimize system performance.
What we are looking for
• Expertise in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of working experience in Engineering related work field that involves embedded system programming, mechanical design, data analytics. Prior experience with monitoring, growing and maintaining plants in hydroponics/aeroponics/ substrate culture for urban agriculture or commercial farm will be considered favourable.
• Proven experience in software development, preferably in IoT or embedded systems.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java.
• Knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, HTTP) and communication technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular).
• Understanding of hardware components and sensors used in IoT devices.
• Passion for urban agricultural development and sustainability.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
• Successful candidates will be employed on a contract basis.
