What the role is

You lead the transformation of MINDEF into a digital-first, data-ready organisation by developing the MINDEF Data Strategy to drive the exploitation of data for policy reviews, operational decision making, and to derive workforce efficiencies.

What you will be working on

You also develop and implement data governance and data management policies and processes in support of the MINDEF Data Strategy outcomes, while ensuring measurements are in place to assess data maturity and quality across MINDEF/SAF. In addition, you partner with digital and data stakeholders across the MINDEF/SAF ecosystem to develop data exploitation strategies that unlock the potential of data for various lines of businesses. Your challenges lie in understanding the fast-moving and evolving digital and data landscape, balancing short-term gains with the long-term shift in data usage, effectively communicating with stakeholders, understanding business needs across various domains, and sustaining momentum in the transformation journey.

What we are looking for

You must have a tertiary qualification, with a minimum of 8 years' related working experience, including 3 years in a supervisory position. Prior experience in business/digital/data transformation, policy, governance, compliance, strategy and implementation, as well as supervisory and management experience, will be advantageous. In addition, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, effective influencing and stakeholder management skills, and creativity, along with a willingness to advocate new approaches, are essential.
