What the role is

The Innovation, Technology & Talent Development (ITTD) Division’s mission is to grow Singapore as The Leading Global Maritime Technology & Innovation Hub. You will report to a Deputy Director in Maritime Technology Capability (MTC) department to Grow and Entrench Key Maritime Technology Enterprises and Industry Capabilities in Singapore.

[What you will be working on]

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Lead industry capability development programmes and projects in one or more areas, such as: port, shipping, green & decarbonisation, and technologies for maritime applications.

  • Manage industry programmes and projects. Evaluate technical proposals seeking grants and other forms of support.

  • Relationship and account management. Engage industry players and technology developers to curate innovation/R&D challenge/opportunity and technology roadmaps.

  • Lead SWOT analysis, value chain studies, technology scan and provide recommendations on strategies and action plans.

  • Organise design thinking workshops, outreach events/webinars and communication channels.

  • Grow technology/R&D partnerships and networks with leading global maritime clusters and organisations.

  • Work with relevant agencies and R&D organisations on joint innovation initiatives and outreach events.

[What we are looking for]

  • Relevant training and industry experience in science and engineering, ICT, innovation and technology, sustainability, maritime, shipping and port, and intellectual property.

  • Possess strong people skills, policy and design thinking skills, and a passion for technology and innovation, meeting people and selling ideas.

  • Be an effective communicator and presenter, competent in both spoken and written English, and able to deal with ambiguity and complexity.
