What the role is

Your primary role is to lead and manage the Corporation’s investment programmes, comprising an internally managed bond portfolio and externally managed multi-asset portfolios.

What you will be working on

You will lead a small team with the following responsibilities:  Keep abreast with macroeconomic and market developments; research and propose strategic investment ideas to enhance the risk adjusted return of the investment programmes  Guide the team to staff recommendation memoranda to the Corporation’s Investment Committee and Board  Review and report portfolio performance for each investment programme to internal management and the Corporation’s Investment Committee and Board  Perform periodic reviews of each investment programme’s investment policy statement, guidelines, and strategic asset allocation  Carry out corporate projects and initiatives as assigned For the internally managed portfolio  Formulate and review the investment programme mandate, evaluate and propose recommendation to internal management, Investment Committee and Board  Formulate and review the credit analysis and monitoring framework for the bond portfolio  Review the portfolio performance and ensure compliance with investment guidelines  Review the team’s trade recommendations  Work closely with the Treasury team to optimise short- and medium-term returns on cash reserves, while balancing liquidity needs For externally managed portfolios  Formulate and review the investment programme mandate, evaluate and propose recommendations to internal management, Investment Committee and Board  Drive the selection, due diligence, procurement, and onboarding of external fund managers and third party service providers (e.g., custodian)  Monitor and review portfolio performance of external fund managers and their compliance with contractual, compliance, fiduciary and investment responsibilities  Work closely with external fund managers to achieve the investment objectives  Oversee the team on operations matters such as the reconciliation of valuation reports, tax filings, proxy voting, certification and payment of fees

What we are looking for

 Background in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, investment management or equivalent. Min 3 years working experience leading a team managing financial investments preferred.  CFA Charterholder would be relevant and advantageous  Strong analytical skills and numeracy, with keen attention to detail  A team player with initiative and a collaborative spirit, able to work independently within set timelines  Strong written and oral communication skills, with confidence fronting external parties and senior management
