The Industrial Arbitration Court (IAC) was established under the Industrial Relations Act 1960 with the goal of promoting industrial harmony and maintaining fair labor practices. The court primarily handles disputes on employment terms, and the certification of collective agreements.
You will assist the Registrar in managing court operations, facilitating the resolution of industrial disputes, and timely certification of collective agreements registered with the court.

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Vetting through collective agreements and variation applications to ensure that the terms therein comply with labour laws
• Assisting in drafting and reviewing court documents or content (such as awards, orders, annual reports, IAC website)
• Providing mediation to parties of a trade dispute
• Providing administrative support during hearings and proceedings
• Supervising and working with a team of executives on the daily operations of the court, including revising existing SOPs
• Maintaining and safekeeping court records (such as awards, transcripts, statistical data)
• Liaising with government agencies and external parties when required
• Continually looking for solutions for the court’s operational efficiency
• Exploring and leveraging on technology (such as AI, data visualisation) to improve work processes, and collate/present data
What we are looking for
• Possess tertiary qualification in any discipline and at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
• Working knowledge of labour laws, industrial relations practices, or dispute resolution would be an advantage;
• Experience in legal, regulatory, enforcement or policy work is preferred
• Ability to write clearly and reason compellingly
• Timely, analytical, independent and self-motivated
