What the role is

You will report to the Lead of RPD’s Grants Policy team that oversees WSG’s funding policies and guidelines. As an RPD officer, you will contribute to the development and review of funding policies and facilitate central oversight of WSG’s grants design and implementation effectiveness through policy and programme reviews and enhancements

Responsibilities

a) Policy Development and Review        

·       Develop and review WSG’s funding policies and principles to support its mission and strategies

·       Review and update WSG-wide funding agreement templates and guidelines to ensure relevance and fit for purpose

·       Advise divisions on WSG’s funding principles and policies to facilitate grants design and implementation

·       Assess divisions’ requests for exceptions to prevailing policies and guidelines

·       Work with divisions on programme reviews and enhancements

b) Grants Governance and Management

·       Implement the Grants Governance Framework to strengthen WSG’s grants management and oversight, such as the introduction of risk mitigating measures and operating guidelines

·       Drive the agenda and perform secretariat duties for WSG’s Governance and Risk Forums

c) Stakeholder Engagement

·       Work with Ministries and Sector Lead agencies to ensure compliance for WSG funding policies and principles with Whole-of-Government guidelines on grants design and management

·       Liaise and engage stakeholders to drive change and facilitate grants design and implementation

Requirements

·       Preferably at least 3 years of public sector experience in relevant fields such as policy development, programme evaluation and grants governance/management.

Knowledge/Skills

·       Possess good communication, writing and presentation skills 

·       Possess strong analytical, critical thinking and numerical skills

·       Possess good project management and problem-solving skills

·       Understand public governance and its principles

·       Organised, meticulous and detail oriented
