What the role is

Oversee implementation and growth of effective services and initiatives that meet the needs of service users effectively and efficiently

 

What you will be working on

Be part of a team that seeks to achieve better outcomes for persons who use social services so that these service users are empowered to live with dignity. Duties include the following:

Partner internal and external stakeholders to enhance NCSS’s existing data collection to provide a more user-friendly and seamless experience for funded social service programmes managed by NCSS e.g. by:

  • Identifying and prioritising common system requirements;

  • Designing and implementing accompanying transition and change management plans for system users;

  • Concurrently, maintaining existing data collection system including troubleshooting for system users.

Partner internal and external stakeholders to give a collective view of social service programmes and initiatives to inform stakeholders’ service planning and strategic reviews e.g. by:

  • Developing coordinated strategy to aggregate data about programmes and initiatives in the wider social service sector (beyond what is funded by government);

  • Experimenting with technological solutions (e.g., AI, bots) to automate and streamline gathering of information from a variety of sources based on identified business requirements;

  • Leveraging stakeholders’ existing systems and/or platforms, understanding their possibilities and limitations, and identifying changes required to enable these systems and/or platforms to achieve desired objectives;

  • Coordinating within division to maintain accuracy of information on programmes and initiatives hosted on these systems and/or platforms.

Unpack NCSS’ data strategy in the division’s business context  and inform division’s planning and review:

  • Identify and prioritise business questions;

  • Assess availability and quality of data to answer these business questions;

  • Develop and implement strategies to address gaps;

  • Develop and maintain dashboard covering key data and distill insights to inform planning and review;

  • Develop processes and protocols to ensure quality of data used to update dashboard and advise division on these processes and protocols;

  • Support division’s submissions to standing data management committee on data governance and management matters

  • Support the Services Group and NCSS as and when required

Experience in UX design such as service design and interaction design.

Proficiency in data visualisation software e.g., Power BI and visual analytics principles

Experience:

2 to 7 years work experience in human services sector, with prior experience in leading (or coordinating part of) business requirement gathering or enhancing IT systems or defining business questions.

Experience in social service sector is advantageous.
