What the role is
What you will be working on
The role is a mix of operations and industry engagement, and policy work. You will develop insights and policies based on data and intelligence gathered on manpower challenges and future industry requirements. These policies will cover efforts to create quality jobs for Singaporeans and sustain a strong Singaporean core in the workforce. You will work closely with the Ministry of Manpower and relevant government agencies to build up a strong pipeline of workers to support industry growth and development, which would involve issues pertaining to foreign worker policy, sector wage competitiveness and school outreach and careers promotion.
You will engage closely with the unions, and industry employer to understand manpower challenges and devise solutions to manage and mitigate these challenges. You will leverage the insights obtained through these engagements to ensure policies are pertinent and fit for purpose.
You will also work as part of the team to support efforts to raise awareness and promotion of aviation careers, including through working with Institutes of Higher Learning to develop or expand aviation training courses/programmes, youth outreach programmes, career fairs etc.

What we are looking for
• Trained in communications, economics or business disciplines with at least 4 years of related working experience in policy-making, workforce development or industry development
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills to develop and execute workforce transformation programmes
• Self-motivated, driven, resourceful, a good team player and able to multi-task
• Detailed and meticulous, and a proficient writer
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to persuade and build consensus among stakeholders
Your appointment designation will be commensurate with your experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure in subsequent renewal.
