You are responsible for establishing the professional guidelines and standards for the Defence Psychology Community (DPC), including Military Medicine Institute (MMI), SAFTI-MI's Centre of Leadership Development (CLD) and RSAF's Aviation Psychology Branch (APB), in psychological assessment to support MINDEF and the SAF's mission.

What the role is
What you will be working on
You develop and customise psychological assessment techniques, tools and systems for MINDEF and the SAF in order to address the unique and complex defence context. You will be the point-of-contact to external network of experts, establishing strong partnerships and collaborations to access current thinking, identify emerging trends and maintain the systems of psychological assessment in MINDEF and the SAF to support DPC as well as MINDEF and the SAF's mission. Your challenges lie in ensuring that the DPC, which separately serves MINDEF, Joint and the Services, observes common standards and delivers evidence-based assessment systems. These systems should be effective in placing the right person in a suitable job while you drive and implement programs to enhance existing systems and processes or create innovative strategies for conducting assessments. You must have an orientation towards applying psychological principles and knowledge.
What we are looking for
You must have a post-graduate degree in Psychology, with at least 10 years' relevant experience in the development and delivery of assessment systems, and experience in exploring multiple areas of assessment in depth and in producing applied research. Possession of strong communication and interpersonal skills is essential for stakeholder management and external collaborations. You should be able to create and implement innovative strategies for integrated psychological solutions, balancing short and long-term priorities. The ability to develop others, work in a networked environment, and appreciate unique organisational contexts is crucial.
