This role supports the cultivation of an insights-driven mindset amongst staff, work with partners to engineer data to transform and enhance business processes, and to deliver impactful data science/ artificial intelligence and data analytics solutions across the organisation.

What you will be working on

An officer in this role would be expected to handle one or more of the following areas of work as part of day-to-day responsibilities or as assignments:

Setup/manage/troubleshoot small-scale cloud environments containing data processing, web applications, data science/AI components and services; manage day-to-day operations
Setup/manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and manage container technologies i.e. Docker & Kubernetes
Work with data scientists and data engineers to migrate/deploy and maintain data pipelines/analytics/artificial intelligence solutions (e.g. applications, models). This includes reviewing/updating/improving the codes that was initially developed by data scientists/engineers.
Provide technical guidance to others on cloud infrastructure/services (including. networking/connectivity, security, performance), DevOps/MLOps
Conduct research on emerging system/cloud architecture, technologies and systems.

What we are looking for

Background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering or equivalent fields
Experience in managing/provisioning infra services, preferably Azure-based services within the context of Government Commercial Cloud. Familiarity in Terraform tool and Infrastructure as Code concept is a plus.
Familiarity/experience in data engineering, data science/AI and web application-related cloud services/products.
Familiarity/experience in frontend and backend, data engineering and data science/AI development process.
Familiarity in data query/science languages such as SQL, Spark and/or Python, or frontend framework (e.g. node.js).
Meticulous and analytical
Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Resourceful and able to work independently in a team environment
