What the role is
What you will be working on
At the operational level, you are responsible to develop the overall psychological health strategy and workplan for your affiliated Division/Formation/Command to meet the psychological health objectives. To this end, you need to engage commanders/supervisors at various levels to understand their needs and organisational context. This will lead you to plan out well-being initiatives such as Division/Formation/Command and unit well-being days, organise activities/talks/visits, and monitor well-being status, present findings at key forums and work with commanders/supervisors to develop intervention when necessary. At the tactical level, you will need to support service personnel one-to-one (e.g. conduct interview, provide counselling, train them on life skill etc.), and partner commanders/supervisors to resolve workplace adjustment issue and advise them on deployment option and management plan. You will also be expected to train commanders/supervisors on managing psychological health challenges at the workplace. Your challenges lie in reducing stigma and shaping a psychologically healthy culture in the Division/Formation/Command, encouraging service personnel to step forward when they are in distress, and keeping abreast on the latest developments in the field.
What we are looking for
You must have a tertiary qualification in Psychology. You should preferably be knowledgeable of national-level psychological and social services policies and resources. You must also have an aptitude for applied psychological research, good interpersonal skills and preferably be a member of the Singapore Psychological Society. You also need to be mindful of your own mental well-being as case work can be emotionally draining.
