- Drive the planning and execution of managing outsourced vendors in re-architecting, redevelopment and consolidation of IT application systems;
- Plan and execute risk and change management activities to transit users to the re-developed applications as well as any new technologies;
- Plan and lead project management activities by taking a proactive approach to managing business issues and requirements. Drive management of outsourced vendors in delivering projects through the entire project lifecycle from feasibility study, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, risk management to development/testing/final delivery and maintenance of IT application systems;
- Work with business and outsourced vendors and government technology subject matter experts to ensure the successful delivery of IT application systems in accordance with whole-of-government security and governance policies;
- Continually seeks ways to improve and streamline work and/or systems processes to enhance overall user experience;
- Establish and maintain good relationships with stakeholders (e.g. business owners, line departments and vendors) to influence and achieve organisational goals. Coordinate with line departments, vendors and other stakeholders to solicit cooperation, negotiate and resolve issues;
- Monitor and provide timely status reporting for assigned projects.
Requirements:
- Education in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or related discipline;
- At least 5 years of experience in managing outsourced IT application project delivery and 2-3 years of experience in cloud-based deployment and migration projects;
- Knowledge of multi-tier architecture across multiple technology stacks (e.g. Java, Net, WEB-APP-DB, caching, middleware, API gateway, etc);
- Familiarity with technologies such as Teams, SharePoint, Nintex workflow, Dynamics CRM, and .Net;
- Understanding of how to build scalable distributed systems and microservice architecture;
- Working technical knowledge of the following will be a strong advantage:
GCC services in Azure and / or AWS;
Integration technologies such as APIs, SSO, SAML; and
- Data analytics platform such as Hadoop, SAS, NoSQL and Enterprise Search technologies
- Strong written and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly and concisely to both business and technical audiences;
- Ability to respond to emergency situations promptly and be able to support after office hour / weekends when necessary; and
- Prior experience in the public sector is preferred but not required.
