MTI’s Future Economy Planning Office (FEPO) team is part of MTI’s Futures, Strategy and Plans Division (FSPD), which oversees the full ‘value chain’ of strategic planning activities within MTI and across Government for the economy. The FEPO team supports Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Future Economic Advisory Panel Heng Swee Keat in drawing together the economic agenda at the Political Office Holder (POH) level and through engagements with C-suite private sector members, to chart the path for future economic growth.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Some of the key roles played by the officer are:
• Support senior leadership, in particular DPM Heng, in identifying strategic priorities and setting the agenda for Whole-of-Government economic work.
• Conceptualise and organise key engagements for POHs and MTI senior management, including roundtable discussions with C-suite private sector members, company visits, and executive meetings.
• Collaborate closely with different economic agencies and thought leaders to nurture new industry sectors with growth potential for Singapore’s economy (e.g. sub-sectors within Sustainability, Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Manufacturing), and translate insights into high-level recommendations or medium-to-long term strategies for new and emerging industries.
• Ensure alignment between economic priorities and public communications (e.g. speechwriting for POHs).
• Perform secretariat duties for executive meeting platforms for senior leadership.
• Propose and implement improvements for future events and strategic initiatives.
