The Research section undertakes and supports research that leads to informed policy and practice, and effective engagement of youth. We spearhead national-level youth research efforts alongside sense-making and consultancy for the organisation and stakeholders.
We are looking for a Manager/ Assistant Manager to join the team to undertake and support research into emerging youth trends and issues. This role will require you to monitor emerging trends in the youth landscape and engage with both internal and external stakeholders to conceptualise research to keep abreast of the youth pulse. You will need to manage quantitative polls, conduct deep-dive analyses and develop reports for stakeholders. In addition, you will support amplification of research insights to relevant stakeholders.

What the role is
What you will be working on
In undertaking this role, you will have the opportunity to carry out research projects from start to end. This involves conducting literature reviews and environmental scans, designing research methodology and questionnaires, managing fieldwork, and conducting data analysis and visualisations.
You will be supporting the team to provide research consultancy for the organisation. You will be responsible for driving analyses on key youth trends and amplify insights to diverse stakeholders across the youth sector and whole-of-government, This requires you to analyse data and identify issues and insights which can inform programme practices and policy formulations. Tapping on your analytical and writing skills, you will be required to prepare data and insights for tailored communication to key stakeholders and public through various platforms.
We are looking for a candidate that has a strong understanding of research and analytical methods, particularly in quantitative research, and good project management and communication skills.
What we are looking for
• Background in psychology, sociology and economics is not a pre-requisite, but would be advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of research methods and analysis. Experience in conducting quantitative research and data analysis preferred.
• Highly proficient in quantitative data management and processing. Proficiency with SPSS, Microsoft Excel and other research/data visualisation software (e.g. Tableau) would be advantageous.
• Good project management skills, critical thinking, data storytelling, writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Possess a macro perspective of issues and eye for details.
• Effective and resourceful team player.
• Able to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment.
