Support the pastoral care system of NYP with capacity building of para-counsellors, personal mentors, and student peer supporters.
[What you will be working on]
Establish and review the personal mentor (PEM) framework to establish a supportive network of care for students among the staff in the schools.
Provide guidance and capability to enable PEMs to develop better care and support to their mentees
Oversee the work of the PEMs and para-counsellors in sustaining their capabilities and engagement with students
Organize and keep records of the training and programmes of PEMs and para-counsellors
Plan and execute programmes and events with strong time management & relational skills.
Monitor the training progress of Student Support staff according to the Staff Capability Development framework
Support the work and operations of the Peer Supporter (PS) programme in the training and mentoring of the PSs.
[What we are looking for]
Relevant working experience with staff and students in pastoral care and support
Knowledgeable on strength-based approaches in counselling and coaching environment
At least 4 years of work experience in an educational setting
A team player with the ability to extend care, support, and encouragement
Desire to strive for continuous improvement through evaluation and feedback
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with staff and students
Meticulous and conscientious with the ability to work with confidential information and maintain a high standard of professionalism and integrity.
