What the role is
What you will be working on
On this, you coordinate and direct research and collection efforts with information agencies across MINDEF/SAF and Whole-of-Government (WOG). You lead the conduct of dedicated research and analysis on various networks, nodes of influence and audience groups in the online environment. You collaborate with various agencies to develop and curate information and direct subordinate analysts for daily research and investigation of information issues. You also oversee information monitoring activities and collaborate with various agencies to media reports and internet forums/blogs. Your challenges lie in extracting key insights from information research, prioritising work tasks, and communicating guidance clearly to unite staff with varying levels of experience and expertise into a cohesive team. You are expected to interpret ongoing developments and conversations in the information environment, combining qualitative analyses with technical knowledge where required.
What we are looking for
You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in Mass Communications or Social Sciences (e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Psychology, Economics), with at least 10 years' working experience and have prior experience in communications-related or research role. You should have strong leadership ability, good analytical skills and strong writing ability. You must work effectively under time pressure, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changes, collaborate with various stakeholders across several agencies, and be an excellent team player.
